Dear North Coast
Following on from the initial email sent with MyNetball information (the new system replacing NMAS) and the information in the questionnaires you have sent back to us (thank you), Netball NSW are proposing to visit your region between the following dates: Friday 14th June – Monday 17th June 2013. These dates are flexible at the moment and we would like to have further discussions over the phone or over email to confirm exact days for each association. Depending on the size of the association we would need between 3-6 hours for training.* Note. The new system includes online registrations for all individual members so Clubs will possibly need to attend these lectures so that they can understand the new Registrations system.
NETBALL ASSOCIATION FEES 2013
Last Saturday saw the Grand finals and Presentation for the junior teams of the Macleay Netball Association.
The San Remo Net-Set-Go girls received their medals and backpacks full of goodies and the Kempsey Medical Centre Netta teams were presented with their trophies. Then 61 girls received Awards for showing commitment to their team by missing not more than one week all season! A fantastic effort by the girls and their families.
The McDonalds 10’s winners were Crescent Head Dory’s who grew in strength as a team over the season, just pipping South West Rocks Mermaids at the post. The McDonalds 11’s winners, SWR Dolphins, were undefeated all season and even had success at the Nambucca carnival a couple of weeks ago. The runners up were Saints Comets Swifts, who only lost 4 games all season.
At 12 o’clock the grand-finals began for the older junior teams. The McDonalds 12’s winners were SC Aquarius who only lost one game all season and that was to a 13 year old team. They comfortably beat runners up, CH Seashells, 22-11. The Mavin Truck Centre Most Valuable Players of the grand final were Grace Hollier and Caitlin Munday. The McDonalds 13’s winners, Frederickton Chicks, were surprise winners on the day. Struggling to field a team all season they showed their coach Sandy Wells that they had been learning at training sessions and beat SWR Hurricanes 17 to 10. SWR coach, Jacobie Watson, was very proud of her charges and their efforts for the season. The Mavin Truck Centre MVP’s of the grand final were Tayenna Taylor and Jessica Douglas.
The Sportsmanship and Encouragement Award to Hannah Miranda of SWR Hurricanes.
The McDonalds 14’s grand-final was a very close game between two teams that have been battling it out since they were in the 10’s. The scores were even until ¾ time when SC Phoenix nudged in front of SC Jupiters. The last quarter continued to be goal for goal until SC Phoenix won with a penalty goal at the final siren. The Mavin Truck Centre MVP’s of the grand final were Rilee O’Loughlin and Marion Van Gelder. The McDonald’s 15’s winners were CH Starfish who hit the ground running and dominated the runners up, Fredo Babes, right from the start, and winning 35-11. The Mavin Truck Centre MVP’s of the grand final were Renee Keast and Caitlin Faulkner who both followed their grand-final by playing in the Kempsey Macleay RSL Division 1 final with the 15s Representative team and then with their senior club teams in the West IGA Division 3 final and the Division 4 final respectfully – a huge effort!
During the presentation that followed the grand-finals the Sportsmanship and Encouragement Award was presented to Hannah Miranda. Hannah was nominated because she always gives 100% for her team and showed great commitment to that team, SWR Hurricanes.
Umpires were also recognised at the presentation. A number of girls have been part of the Umpiring Program this year and have working hard umpiring every week or every second week. Tamara Keast, Jade Koneiczny and Tyla Breedon earned their Level 2 District Badges. Molly Gee, Louise Parker, Kathleen Brauer, Neesha Bozinovski, Rilee O’Loughlin, Claire Brennan, Narelle Weston, Mel Baker and Kate Swan earned their Level 3 District Badges. All these girls are keen to continue umpiring, working towards their Level 1 District Badge and National C Badges. Congratulations girls. RESULTS.
